Welcome to the Tundra, We've Got Fun and Games...

The cold mornings make it hard to get out of bed.  The floor stings your feet with the sharp bite of winter as you finally emerge from your cocoon.  Navigating the morning routine you trip over the gallons of water that you bought anticipating a failure in the grid.  At least you will be hydrated. Pull down that beanie and don't forget to let your engine warm up before you hit the road.  We wanted brisk sweater weather and well here we are. It might be a frozen landscape laid out before us but there is much to bring warmth upon us. Button up that cardigan this is a hustling week in Houston and here is your Hidden Agenda.

Author Talk: Lois Zamora, Beyond Individualism | 7:00pm - 9:00PM

Basket Books & Art | 115 Hyde Park Blvd.

Basket Book invites you to join for an evening discussion.  Houston’s beloved book store continues to impress with their support of their artists and featured authors. “Beyond Individualism examines the portrayal of collective identities over two centuries in Latin American literature and visual art. Lois Parkinson Zamora shows that many authors and artists are less concerned with singular selves than with selves-in-relation: less with individual autonomy than with communal affiliation. Zamora calls this new Latin American form “archetypal realism” because its characters represent entities larger than themselves”.
