The Hidden Agenda: WEEELLLLLL It’s The Big Show

It’s big. It’s loud. It’s making its way down the ramp with the confidence of a seven-foot, 384-pound wrestling legend and the subtlety of a folding chair to the back. This week’s Hidden Agenda is entering the ring with blockbuster energy, a little theatrical menace, and the kind of oversized presence that makes you look at your calendar and think, “Alright, I guess we’re doing this.” The agenda is large. The vibes are larger.

ISHIDA Dance Company: 'waiting / REX' | 7:30 PM

Asia Society Texas | 1370 Southmore Blvd

Get ready for some weirdness as Ishida premieres two new performances in a double feature Thursday through Sunday. They like to move, and they like to interpret, this time taking on Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett and Oedipus Tyrannus by Sophocles - how fancy.

Friday, 06/12

Opening: The Big Show | 7:00 PM

Lawndale Art Center | 4912 Main St

Yup, it’s the big bad show once again at Lawndale, and you can pay $125 to go at 5PM or just wait until 7 to wander in with the rest of the plebes.

Saturday, 06/13

Poets Garden HTX Writing Workshop | 1:00 PM

Lawndale Art Center | 4912 Main St

Just a night’s rest later, and it’s back to Lawndale for a generative poetry workshop with Ariana Brown. MASKS REQUIRED (and also provided). Also while it has garden in the name, it’ll actually be inside and upstairs.
