The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Up came the sun and dried up and the rain and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.  A story of pure resilience and which is very much all of our story.  A bit of Sisyphus, a dash of prometheus punishment.  Alas, we try and try again continuing to climb that water spout, roll that rock up the hill, or regrow only to be pecked apart again.  It's a practice in patience for most.  For us here in Houston it's a bit literal.  Torrential downpours have ravaged the city and flooded the streets for the last week and again this week. We will of course get a break for a half day or maybe even a full day only to be scorched by the sun and blanketed with a crashing wave of humidity.  You might think this would shut down our motivation or curb the appeal of venturing out into the night, but it does not.  This is where we live and part of our “seasons”.  The city prevails, and our shows, exhibitions, and events keep on coming with impressive speed.  Big city itsy bitsy spider.  Here is your weekly Hidden Agenda.

Through rare archival footage, interviews, and music, the film traces how a group of artists transformed the city’s cultural landscape with their bold, unconventional approaches. Both energetic and insightful, the documentary reveals the community, humor, and independence that continue to define their enduring legacy”.
