Chrimbustime
Chrimbus is here, and a lot of art spaces are in stasis until the new year, but there’s still a bit going on this week for those in need. I won’t include all the ongoing stuff, although you can check out Artechouse which is maintaining some consistent hours this week along with the larger museums. Smaller spaces have smaller staffs, and those staffs need a break, so let them chill. Check websites for hours before you go somewhere, or just go hang in a park. Get in touch with your community, feed some strays, train some birds to find money, or dig through what’s not redacted from the Epstein files, staying wary that there’s a lot of bullshit this current administration is trying to lie about.

The Muppet Christmas Carol - Wednesday @ 1:45 & 4:30
It’s a Wonderful Life - Wednesday @ 6

30footFALL Christmas Show | 8:00 PM
Bad Astronaut Brewing | 1519 Fulton St
It’s a noisy Christmas tradition that 30footFALL has put on since at least when I was in high school, and it’s a hoot. While it was long housed in Fitzgerald’s, it’s a little more nomadic these days. This year they’re setting up shop at Bad Astronaut, which is very spacious and cool. Municipal Bats & Bick - 52s open, so you’ve got a very punk Christmas night to enjoy.
Advanced tickets are $15, and pay $20 day of the show.
Saturday, 12/27
Unbelievable - The Magic of Jamie Salinas | 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM
River Oaks Theatre | 2009 W Gray St
Unbelievable, or is it!? Ooh, magic is still in the air from Christmas, and you can see some maybe not holiday-themed sleight of hand by magician Jamie Salinas. There are two showings on Saturday, so you know, maybe you can see it twice and really figure out how he did whatever he’s going to do by the end of the second show.
